AnytimeBuddy ("we", "our", "us") operates the AI Buddy mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use AI Buddy, how we use it, and how we protect it.

Information We Collect
We only collect what is necessary to provide you with a personal AI companion experience.
- Email address — collected at registration to identify your account.
- Name — collected at registration to personalise your experience.
- Voice input — your speech is converted to text on-device. We do not store audio recordings.
- Chat messages — stored encrypted so AI Buddy can remember your conversations across sessions.
- Mood check-ins — daily emoji ratings (1–5 scale) stored encrypted to track your wellbeing over time.
- Device information — OS version and device type, used for crash reporting via Sentry.
- Usage analytics — anonymous, aggregated statistics (e.g. session length) to improve app performance. No personally identifiable data.
How We Use Your Information
Your information is used solely to make AI Buddy work well for you.
- To provide AI companion services — processing your messages and generating responses.
- To remember your conversations and life events across sessions.
- To improve app performance and fix bugs.
- To send important account-related emails (no marketing without your consent).
We never sell your data to third parties.
We never use your conversations or personal data to train AI models.
Data Storage & Security
- Encryption at rest — all sensitive personal data is encrypted using AES-256.
- Server location — our servers are located in Europe (EU6 region).
- Retention — your data is retained as long as your account is active.
- Account deletion — deleting your account permanently removes all personal data from our systems, including your chat history, mood logs, and memories.
While we take strong measures to protect your data, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We continuously review and improve our security practices.
Third Party Services
AI Buddy uses a small number of trusted third-party services to deliver its features. Each has its own privacy policy.
🤖 Google Gemini AI
Processes your messages to generate AI responses. Messages are sent securely via our backend and are not stored by Google for AI training under our enterprise agreement.
🎙️ ElevenLabs
Converts AI text responses into natural-sounding voice audio. Text is sent to ElevenLabs to generate audio and is not stored after delivery.
🛡️ Sentry
Captures crash reports and error logs to help us fix bugs quickly. Sentry receives device information and error context — no chat messages or personal conversations.
🔐 Google Sign In
Optional authentication method. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address only — no other Google account data.
Crisis Situations
AI Buddy is designed to be a supportive companion, not a substitute for professional mental health care. If the app detects crisis-related keywords in a conversation, it will surface mental health helpline information (such as iCall: 9152987821).
No personal data or conversation content is automatically shared with helplines or any third party during a crisis detection event. This feature is purely informational.
If you are in immediate danger, please contact emergency services (112 in India) or a licensed mental health professional.
Children's Privacy
AI Buddy is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us at hello@anytimebuddy.com and we will promptly delete the account and associated data.
Your Rights
You are in control of your data. Here is what you can do:

Email us at hello@anytimebuddy.com to request a copy of all personal data we hold about you. -
Delete your account and all data
Use the in-app account deletion option, or email us. Deletion is permanent and irreversible. -
Export your data
Email us to request an export of your chat history and stored memories in a readable format. -
Correct your data
Update your name or email directly in the app settings.
We will respond to all data requests within 30 days.
